How it works is simple. Documents are scanned and indexed via an eCopy™ ShareScan® OP device, using customizable indexing (metadata) fields. Once saved into the uniConnect system, the scanned documents are immediately available for searching and viewing.
To view a document, a user simply has to highlight some text in your Windows-based business application and press a pre-defined hotkey combination. Within seconds, any documents associated with the highlighted text are displayed in a web-browser window. It's that easy! And it doesn't just work with your business application - ANY Windows application where you can highlight text can be used for this hotkey document viewing, be it Microsoft Word, a web page in Internet Explorer or Firefox, Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express... the list goes on.
Add on the optional Barcode Autoindexing package, and the process is even simpler, with all manual indexing of the documents being replaced by automatic barcode reading. It doesn't get any easier than that!
